Abu Dhabi · Small batch

Goodness,
dried in the sun.

Fruit is already sweet. We take the water out and leave everything else alone — no sugar, no sulphites, no oil. One ingredient on the back of every pouch.

The promise

What we will not do

No added sugar

Not glucose, not cane, not “fruit juice concentrate”. The sweetness is the fruit’s own.

No sulphur dioxide

The preservative that keeps supermarket apricots orange. It also sets off asthma. We skip it, so our colour is honest.

No oil, no frying

Banana chips are usually fried. Ours are dried. It is a difference you can taste and a difference you can measure.

Nothing arrives dried

We buy the fruit fresh here and dry it here. Nobody dried it a year ago in another country.

    Our story

    Why we started

In the spring of 2024 my father sat in a clinic in Abu Dhabi and was told, politely, that his blood sugar had been climbing for three years and nobody had thought to mention it.

We went home and did what everyone does. We emptied the cupboard. What we found was almost funny. The “healthy” dried mango had more added sugar per gram than the chocolate sitting next to it. The apricots were the colour of a traffic cone, because of sulphur dioxide. The pack that said no added sugar on the front listed glucose syrup third on the back.

Fruit is already sweet. Somebody had decided that wasn’t enough.

So we bought a small dehydrator, put it on the kitchen counter, and started slicing. Mangoes from Mina Zayed on Saturday mornings. Apples, kiwi, oranges. Fourteen hours at fifty-seven degrees. No sugar, no sulphur, no oil, no flavouring.

The first batch was for my father. The second was for the neighbours, who had knocked to ask what the smell was. By the fourth we had run out of jars.

In Arabic, خير is the goodness you wish on someone — not the kind you buy. It seemed like the right thing to call it.

Dried and packed in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

    How we dry

    Four steps, fourteen hours

    01

    Chosen

Whole fruit from Mina Zayed, ripe enough to be sweet on its own. Never concentrate, never offcuts.

    02

    Sliced

By hand, to an even four millimetres. Uneven slices dry unevenly, and unevenly dried fruit spoils.

    03

    Dried

Fourteen hours at 57°C. Low enough that nothing cooks. Long enough that nothing survives.

    04

    Sealed

Into a resealable food-grade pouch within the hour, while it is still warm from the tray.

    Questions

    The things people ask

    Is there really nothing added?

Nothing. No sugar, no glucose syrup, no sulphur dioxide, no oil, no natural flavouring, no preservative. Every pouch lists one ingredient, and it is the fruit named on the front. If that ever changes, we will say so here first.

Why does your fruit look darker than the supermarket kind?

Because it has not been treated with sulphur dioxide. SO₂ is what keeps commercial apricots orange and commercial mango neon. It is legal and it is common, and it is also the most frequent trigger for the wheezing and headaches some people get from dried fruit. Ours browns the way a cut apple browns. That is the fruit, not a fault.

    How long does it keep?

Nine months sealed, kept out of direct sun. Once opened, press the air out and reseal — three to four weeks at room temperature, longer in the fridge. There is no preservative doing that work, so the pouch matters.

    Is it halal?

Yes. There is nothing in it but fruit, and nothing touches it but stainless steel and a drying tray. No alcohol is used at any stage, including cleaning.

    Is this suitable for diabetics?

Dried fruit is concentrated fruit — taking the water out concentrates the natural sugar along with the fibre. We add none, but a 30g portion still carries the sugar of the whole fresh fruit. Please treat it as fruit rather than as a sugar-free product, and speak to your doctor.

    How do I pay?

Build your basket here, send it to us on WhatsApp in one tap, and we reply with the total and a delivery slot. Payment is on delivery, by card or cash. Card checkout on the site is coming.

Do you deliver outside Abu Dhabi?

Not yet. We deliver across the whole emirate — Abu Dhabi City, Al Ain and Al Dhafra — and nowhere else for now. Dubai is the next step.

Can I order for an office or an event?

Yes. For anything above five kilos or twenty boxes, message us on WhatsApp and we will quote you directly. We do unbranded and co-branded boxes for corporate gifting.
